Haagen-Dazs' 'Bar Sachertorte' tasting review, where sweet and sour apricot sauce seeps out of crispy chocolate

Häagen-Dazs' Sachertorte Bar , inspired by the Austrian dessert Sachertorte, will be available from November 4, 2025. Following the original Sachertorte, it's accented with rich chocolate and a sweet and sour apricot sauce. Häagen-Dazs provided us with an early sample, so we tried it out.

This is the package for 'Bar Sachertorte'.

It is shown to have a four-layer structure of chocolate coating, apricot sauce, chocolate coating and chocolate ice cream.

Ingredients include apricot sauce and cocoa powder.

The calories are 305kcal.

This is what's inside.

When you cut it with a knife and look at the cross section, you can see the yellow apricot sauce inside. The crisp texture of the chocolate coating is followed by the sweet and sour apricot sauce, which oozes out. At first, the sweet and sour taste of the apricot sauce dominates the mouth, but the apricot sauce soon weakens and the bittersweetness of the chocolate ice cream emerges, creating a layered taste with multiple flavors: the bittersweetness of the chocolate ice cream and the slightly sweetness of the chocolate coating.

The suggested retail price of the 'Bar Sachertorte' is 351 yen including tax, and is scheduled to be released on November 4, 2025.
