The following is an excerpt from a report titled ' The Impact of AI Utilization on the Japanese Economy ,' published by Mizuho Research & Technologies on January 29, 2025. Mizuho Research & Technologies estimates that 'if the AI ​​utilization scenario is realized, the cumulative economic impact by 2035 will be approximately 140 trillion yen.'

Based on a report by Mizuho Research & Technologies and

calculations by the Cabinet Office (PDF file), OpenAI claims that the use of AI will boost GDP growth. Furthermore, OpenAI stated, 'AI has the potential to boost Japan's GDP by up to 16% and generate economic value exceeding 100 trillion yen,' and outlined three pillars necessary for Japan to emerge as a global AI leader.

The three pillars presented in 'AI in Japan: OpenAI's Economic Blueprint' are as follows:
