M5-equipped iPad Pro unboxing ceremony & appearance photo review, the contents have evolved but the appearance remains the same as the previous generation

The iPad Pro ,

announced on Thursday, October 16, 2025, is equipped with the latest generation Apple silicon M5 chip at the time of writing. This M5-equipped iPad Pro was released on Friday, October 22, 2025, so I immediately purchased it and checked its appearance first.

I purchased the iPad Pro with M5 at the Apple Store on the day it was released.

The cosmetic box looks like this.

The model I purchased this time was a 13-inch Wi-Fi model with 1TB of storage.

Peel off the seal on the back of the gift box.

When you open the lid, you'll see the iPad Pro wrapped in wrapping paper.

The iPad Pro is space black.

The actual weight is 575g.

The size is 249.7mm long x 177.5mm wide x 5.3mm thick. When comparing the size with A4 size of 297mm long x 210mm wide, it looks like this.

There is a camera module on the top right of the back. There is only one wide-angle camera with 12MP and ƒ/1.8 aperture. The hole on the bottom right is a microphone.

The camera module protrudes from the back, measuring approximately 1.5mm in height, or approximately 2mm including the lens.

At the bottom of the back there is a metal terminal for connecting accessories.

There is a speaker grill on the top and a microphone in the center.

There was a top button on the right side of the top panel, next to the camera module.

There is a speaker grill on the bottom, with a USB-C port between them.

There is a magnetic connector in the center of the left side.

The volume control button is located on the top left side, next to the camera module.

There was nothing special on the right side.

The display is powered on and displayed. It's a 13-inch Ultra Retina XDR display with a resolution of 2752 x 2064 pixels. It supports ProMotion technology and has an adaptive refresh rate of 10Hz to 120Hz. The color gamut is

Display P3 , the contrast ratio is 2 million:1, the minimum brightness is 1 nit, the maximum brightness is 1000 nits, and the peak brightness is 1600 nits.

The bezel width was measured at approximately 8mm on both the top, bottom, left and right sides.

The included items are the iPad Pro Quick Start Guide, a 20W USB-C power adapter, and a USB-C charging cable. Because the device is space black, the USB-C charging cable is black.

The 20W USB-C power adapter outputs 5V/3A and 9V/2.22A.

The appearance and size of the M5-equipped iPad Pro are the same as the M4-equipped iPad Pro released in 2024. However, Apple claims that the M5-equipped iPad Pro's AI performance is up to 3.5 times faster than the M4-equipped model, and that graphics processing such as 3D rendering is also faster, suggesting that the internals have evolved significantly. Therefore, in the next article, we will be conducting benchmarks to understand the power of the M5.

The M5-equipped iPad Pro is available in two colors, space black and silver, with two display sizes, 11 inches and 13 inches, and two models: Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular. Storage options include 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB, with the 1TB and 2TB models available with a nano-texture glass coating. The M5 configuration also varies slightly depending on the storage configuration. The 256GB and 512GB models feature a 9-core CPU with three high-performance cores and six high-efficiency cores, while the 1TB and 2TB models feature a 10-core CPU with four high-performance cores and six high-efficiency cores.
