There are several ways to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11, one of which is to create Windows 11 installation media using the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool. The method for using the Media Creation Tool is also explained on Microsoft's official website , and it is widely used as a useful tool not only for updating to Windows 11 but also for clean installations on new machines.

However, it has been revealed that the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool version 26100.6584, released on September 29, 2025, has an issue where the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool cannot be launched on Windows 10 and no error message is displayed. In other words, even if you try to use the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool to update to Windows 11 before the end of support for Windows 10, you will find that the tool will not launch, no error message will be displayed, and you will not be able to continue the update process.

Microsoft is working on a fix and will release a version of the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool that can boot Windows 10 in a future update. Until the issue is resolved, users are advised to use the ISO image provided at the bottom of

Machines with Windows 10 installed will continue to function after October 14, 2025, but will no longer be able to receive technical support for any issues, software updates, or security updates or fixes. However, by installing the Extended Security Updates (ESU), you can maintain security updates until October 13, 2026.
