We took on the gourmet hunt at Machi★Asobi Vol. 29, which featured a wide variety of dishes, including salted sea bream ramen, whitebait rice bowls, spicy curry, and authentic hamburgers.
Tokushima City will host the comprehensive entertainment event 'Machi★Asobi Vol. 29' on Saturday, October 18th and Sunday, October 19th, 2025. Some events have already begun on Saturday, October 11th. One of these events is the ' Gourmet Hunt ,' where participants visit participating stores in Tokushima City and receive original postcards by fulfilling certain conditions at each store. This is a regular event at Machi★Asobi, held in the fall, and the participating stores change slightly each time. Four new stores were participating this year, so we went to check out what was on the menu.

Gourmet Hunt participating store information
There is no need to pre-register or pay a participation fee to participate in the 'Gourmet Hunt.' Each participating store has its own set of 'Hunt conditions,' such as 'ordering a specified menu item' or 'ordering more than a specified amount,' and if you meet these conditions, you will receive an original postcard at the time of payment. In addition, if you collect five stamps from each store on the stamp sheet distributed at the store, you will receive a prize.
Morning, lunch, and sometimes dinner Door!
I got off at Tokushima Station to begin my gourmet hunt, but at this point I didn't have a flyer or the gourmet hunt card, so I decided to get one from a place that was open early. I headed to 'Morning Lunch and Sometimes Dinner Door! ', which was about a five-minute walk from the station and opened at 7:30. It's in the same building as the Nippon Rent-A-Car Tokushima Station East Office, so it was easy to find it by using Nippon Rent-A-Car as your destination.
There is a staircase in the center of the building, so go up to the second floor.
After going up the stairs to the second floor, on the left hand side you will find 'Door!', a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner.
I was fully prepared for the gourmet hunt. The condition for the hunt was to order the 'Machi★Asobi Limited Charcoal Sudachi Soda (650 yen including tax).'
Since this store handles payment when you order, I told them I didn't have a stamp sheet and they gave me one.
The soda had a strong tartness from the sudachi, and was a refreshing drink that woke me up in the morning.
All four of the stores participating in Machi★Asobi for the first time are serving main dishes that are sure to fill you up. Although I had enough time to visit the other stores that were already open before the four stores opened, I decided to skip them and wait hungry.
Donoura Tokushima Station Store
So, the first place we went to was the popular ramen restaurant '
The hunt conditions are 'your favorite ramen + extra rice' or 'souvenir ramen.' Lunch menu items are not eligible.
There are four types of ramen: the specialty 'Salted Sea Bream Ramen' (800 yen), 'Seared Mentaiko Ramen' (900 yen), 'Salted Sea Bream Red Ramen' (850 yen), and 'Mash Sea Urchin Ramen' (1200 yen). There are three types of rice replacements: salted kelp (250 yen), cheese (300 yen), and super rice replacement (raw egg and salted kelp 350 yen).
The interior of the store is a long, narrow counter style that stretches towards the back.
The 'Salted Sea Bream Ramen' is a bowl of ramen with a rich soup made with Naruto sea bream and other ingredients, which flows smoothly down the throat along with the thin noodles. The crispy texture of the sea bream with its skin is also enjoyable.
This is a super rice substitute. The rich soup goes well with not only noodles but also rice.
Fly Shirasu Bandai store
Next, we visited the warehouses in Bandaicho, Tokushima City, where stylish stores have been renovated.

The conditions for the hunt are to order a 'Shirasu Donburi Set Meal' or purchase a 'Takeout Shirasu Donburi.' You can choose between small, regular, and large servings for the Shirasu Donburi. Since I was there, I ordered a large serving. I also heard that I could change the miso soup to spiny lobster miso soup, so I asked for that, but the portion was ridiculously large.
There was a mountain of whitebait. As part of the autumn harvest campaign, all items on the boiled whitebait bowl set meal were discounted by 150 yen. A large portion would have cost 1650 yen, but it was 1500 yen.
The generous amount of shirasu is extremely satisfying to eat.
The miso soup contains shrimp meat, and its rich flavor will make you want to eat the shirasu bowl in no time.
◆Culture & Spice KOPOLI
Two restaurants from the Ryogoku Honmachi Shopping Arcade on Ryogokubashi Street are participating. '
The interior of the store has a very stylish atmosphere.
The hunt condition is to order one curry. There are three types of curry, but you can order any of them. Of course, double and triple orders are also possible.
This time I ordered the triple. On the left is 'Pumpkin and Okra Coconut Dal Curry,' in the top center is 'Salmon, Avocado, Mushroom Soy Milk Chicken Keema,' and on the right is 'KOPOLI Chicken Curry,' all of which come with yogurt and salad for dessert. The dal curry is a light curry with the sweetness of pumpkin, the keema curry is slightly sour but mellow, and the KOPOLI Chicken Curry is full of spices and a little spicy. Each of the three has a completely different flavor, so it's fun to eat them separately or mixed together. If you don't like spicy food, adding a soft-boiled egg or cheese as toppings might be just the right amount.
It is unique in that it is the only spice curry restaurant in Tokushima that is open in the evenings.

Directly across Ryogokubashi Street from KOPOLI is the hamburger shop '
The hunt requirement is 'orders over 1,500 yen.' This time, I ordered a premium cheeseburger for 1,450 yen with a drink. The hamburger comes with fries and pickles, and if you order a hamburger, you get a 400 yen discount on your soft drink.
Take-out is also available.
The top and bottom buns were stuck together with plenty of cheese.
The cross section looks like this. The hand-kneaded patty is substantial and chewy, with a chewy texture of meat. It's topped with tomato and lettuce, making it a truly authentic burger that will fill you up even on its own.
The locations of each store and the hunt conditions are as follows. It would be impossible to visit all the stores during the main Machi★Asobi period, on the 18th (Sat) and 19th (Sun), so please choose carefully which stores you want to visit. The Gourmet Hunt itself will continue until November 3rd (Mon, national holiday), so it is also possible to visit them after Machi★Asobi.
