A tasting review of 'ZONe ENERGY PASSION SPARKLE,' an energy drink inspired by Taiwan's popular Tea-Ade

The energy drink 'ZONe ENERGY' has released a new flavor, ' ZONe ENERGY PASSION SPARKLE ,' inspired by Taiwan's popular fruit tea, '

Tea-ade ,' which will be available exclusively at Don Quijote , Apita , Piago , and U- Store on October 7, 2025. I was really curious to know what an energy drink inspired by Taiwanese fruit tea would taste like, so I decided to give it a try.

The bottle design for ZONe ENERGY PASSION SPARKLE looks like this. The four-character idiom '好天心動' (good weather) means 'feeling excited on a good day.'

The ingredients are sugar, palatinose, carbon dioxide, acidulant, flavoring, arginine, preservative (sodium benzoate), caffeine, niacinamide, sweetener (sucralose), vitamin B6, and carotenoid pigment. The content is 400ml.

Each 400ml bottle contains 192kcal, 75mg of caffeine, and 400mg of arginine.

I poured the contents into a clear cup.

The drink is yellow in color and has a scent reminiscent of tropical fruits.

When I drank it, I got a brief fruity aroma followed by a soft tea leaf aroma, followed by the artificial flavor of an energy drink. It also had a sweetness and a slight astringency like black tea. The carbonation wasn't too strong, and the drink was refreshing. While it had a flavor reminiscent of an energy drink, it also had a somewhat exotic feel, making it a great choice for a change of pace.

ZONe ENERGY PASSION SPARKLE will be available for purchase at Don Quijote, Apita, Piago, and U-Store stores from Tuesday, October 7, 2025. The suggested retail price is 223 yen (excluding tax).
