Tasting review of 'Yakuzen Kojitsu Ginger & Apple' where you can drink medicinal food with a gorgeous fragrance and the sweetness of honey
Suntory's medicinal food specialty brand 'Yakuzen Kojitsu' will be adding a new hot drink, ' Yakuzen Kojitsu Ginger & Apple ,' on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. I received a sample, so I decided to try it to see what it was like.

This is what Yakuzen Koujitsu Ginger & Apple looks like. The volume is 500ml, but since it's a hot drink, the bottle is a little short and thick.
It is a well-balanced combination of the five medicinal tastes: sour apple, bitter ginseng, sweet honey, spicy ginger, and salt. One bottle contains 210 calories.
Normally, when you want to heat up a bottled drink that is at room temperature, you transfer it to another container, but when you buy it at a convenience store, you end up with it already warmed in an insulated container, so I wanted to heat it up without opening the cap.So I boiled water in a pot, and then added Yakuzen Kyoujitsu Ginger & Apple to the water after removing it from the heat.
Once it was sufficiently warm, I removed it from the water. As expected, the moment I opened the bottle, a gorgeous, fragrant aroma filled the room, and an editorial staff member working nearby commented, 'There's something nice smelling.' When poured into a glass, it had the tingly spiciness of ginger tea, enveloped by the sweetness of honey and a slight tartness of apple, reminiscent of a 'fruit tea with a strong ginger flavor.' It also tasted similar to the flavor of ginger throat lozenges dissolved in hot water. The bitterness and saltiness were not particularly noticeable, making it easy to drink, and I felt that the aim of 'easy and delicious medicinal food' was a success.
'Medicinal Food Day Ginger & Apple' will be available from Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at a suggested retail price of 220 yen (excluding tax). On Amazon, a set of 24 bottles was sold for 3,919 yen (163 yen per bottle) including tax.
