A taste review of the rich and sweet 'Calpis Richness' and how it compares with the original Calpis

A bottled drink called ' Calpis Richness ' was released on September 30, 2025. It's a strong Calpis drink made with burnt sugar and dairy ingredients fermented at low temperatures. I was curious about the taste, so I bought some and compared it with a stronger Calpis.
Calpis Richness-Inducing Dairy Drink Launches September 30th
I found 'Calpis Koku ni Oderu' at Aeon. Everything on this shelf is 'Calpis Koku ni Oderu.'

I bought some Calpis for comparison with 'Drowning in Calpis Richness.'

The side of the label highlights that it uses 'low-temperature, long-term fermented milk' and 'burnt sugar.'

The ingredients are sugar, skim milk powder, lactic acid bacteria drink, fermented milk, acidulant, stabilizer, and flavoring.

The calorie content is 62 kcal per 100 ml. The content volume is 490 ml, so if you drink the whole bottle, it will be 303.8 kcal.
By the way, if you dilute the original Calpis five times, the calories will be 46 kcal per 100 ml.

When you try Calpis Kokoku ni Odore, you'll find that it's quite strong. Unlike regular Calpis, it has a stronger milky flavor.

When compared to a stronger Calpis, Calpis Kokuni Odoreru has a less sour taste and focuses on milk and sweetness. It also has the distinct characteristic of leaving a lasting sweetness in the mouth for a longer period of time than Calpis made from concentrate.

The suggested retail price of 'Calpis Rich' is 216 yen including tax. At the time of writing, 24 bottles can be purchased at Amazon.co.jp for 2,980 yen including tax (124 yen per bottle).
