Amazon Kindle Scribe, now in color—redesigned for productivity
The Kindle Scribe is a handwriting-enabled e-reader that comes with a dedicated pen. The newly announced Kindle Scribe features a redesigned body with a thinner bezel. The e-paper display is 11 inches and 5.4mm thick. The surface is made of molded glass, which replicates the friction of writing with a pen on paper.

It supports connections to Google Drive and OneDrive, allowing you to load and save documents, and also has a feature that uses AI to summarize the entire document.

The Kindle Scribe Colorsoft display uses Amazon's proprietary color filters and nitride LED technology, enabling vibrant colors. It also uses a newly developed rendering engine to ensure a smooth writing experience while displaying color.

The starting price for the new Kindle Scribe is $429.99 (approximately ¥63,635) for the non-frontlit model, $499.99 (approximately ¥73,995) for the frontlit model, and $629.99 (approximately ¥93,233) for the color-compatible Kindle Scribe Colorsoft. In the US, the frontlit model and Kindle Scribe Colorsoft are scheduled to appear in the second half of 2025, while the non-frontlit model is scheduled to appear in the first half of 2026. In the UK and Germany, all models are scheduled to appear in the first half of 2026, but the rollout dates for other countries are unknown.
