The story of 'The Savant' is about an undercover agent known as 'The Savant' who infiltrates online hate groups to thwart terrorist attacks before domestic extremists can act. The story is inspired by a woman who prevented a bombing, featured in the women's fashion magazine Cosmopolitan.

It was unclear why the show's official website was deleted, but on September 23, entertainment media outlet Deadline reported that 'Apple has postponed the release of 'The Savant'.'
An Apple TV+ spokesperson told Deadline, 'After careful consideration, we have decided to delay the release of The Savant. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to releasing the series at a later date.'
Apple has not explained why 'The Savant' was delayed, but Deadline reports that 'The Savant's theme (a story about preventing extremist attacks) and the imagery that recalls the Charlie Kirk shooting on September 10th are likely factors behind the delay.'
The Post Millennial reports, 'The Savant stars Jessica Chastain as she identifies and infiltrates so- called online hate groups. While the film is politically motivated, that's the only real connection it has to the Charlie Kirk shooting.'
