Theatrical animation 'DEATH STRANDING MOSQUITO' project launches with teaser video released

The launch of the Hollywood co-production animation project ' DEATH STRANDING MOSQUITO ,' based on the globally popular game 'DEATH STRANDING' created by creator Hideo Kojima, was announced at KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS' 10th anniversary event 'Beyond The Strand.'
During the event, Kojima mentioned that a live-action film adaptation of 'DEATH STRANDING' is already in the works with A24, and announced a new project for an animated film.
A live-action film of DEATH STRANDING will be co-produced by Kojima Productions and A24, and Kojima Productions will move into the 'second phase' - GIGAZINE

The script was written by Aaron Guzikowski, and Kojima revealed that he will be handing over the directorial duties to Hiroshi Miyamoto of ABC Animation Studio, as he 'will not be able to move forward for the next 5 to 10 years.'

Regarding the director, Miyamoto apparently contacted Kojima about two years ago, and Miyamoto revealed that, because the game is photorealistic, he will be using a slightly different technique from traditional Japanese animation.
Miyamoto's aim is clear from the teaser video that has been released.

Miyamoto said he likes works from the late analog era, such as 'Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade' directed by Hiroyuki Okiura and 'Ghost in the Shell' directed by Mamoru Oshii, and that he is thoroughly committed to 'preserving the feel of analog on the screen' when he makes his works.
The subtitle 'MOSQUITO' comes from the fact that the protagonist of this work has the ability to 'suck,' and it seems that the world will be seen through the eyes of a different person than Sam Strand from the game.
The release date of the theatrical version is still unknown.
