Zuckerberg, a lawyer, has used his business Facebook pages to promote his work and communicate with potential clients, but Meta's moderation system has flagged his accounts as impersonating Facebook founder and CEO Zuckerberg, which has resulted in his Facebook pages being disabled five times over the past eight years and his personal account being banned four times.

Zuckerberg is not impersonating CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Speaking to Indiana local media outlet wthr.com, Zuckerberg said that having the same name as CEO Mark Zuckerberg is 'more of a nightmare than a coincidence,' 'no laughing matter,' and 'it really pisses me off that they're taking my money for this.'
Zuckerberg added, 'Using a pseudonym! I've been using this name (Mark Zuckerberg) for a much longer time than he (CEO Zuckerberg) has.' 'I think there are better things to do than sue Facebook. They have more money, lawyers, and resources than I do. I don't want to pick a fight with Facebook, but I don't know how else to stop them.'
At the time of filing the lawsuit, Zuckerberg's Facebook account was still banned, and it remained so for four months. Zuckerberg joked, 'I quit. They banned me again. I'm going to jail.' Meta apparently sends him an apology email every time his account is banned, appealed, and lifted.

'As always, I did everything they told me to do. They told me to appeal if I felt the ban was unfair. I appealed properly the day after my account was banned, but it's been four months and I still haven't heard anything. It took over six months for my account to be reinstated last time, so I don't know how else to get their attention,' he said. 'They call themselves one of the world's leading technology companies, yet they can't stop doing this, and the appeals process doesn't seem to be working either. I think there's something wrong with them,' he said.
Zuckerberg claims that Facebook's unfair bans of his Facebook pages and accounts have cost him client communications and cost his law firm hundreds of thousands of dollars in advertising revenue. 'It's like buying a billboard on the side of a highway, paying for advertising, and then a company comes and covers it up with a giant blanket, and you don't get the benefit of what you paid for,' Zuckerberg said. 'This is unfair. It's not right. They have to stop.'
Zuckerberg also spoke of the struggles of having the same name as CEO Zuckerberg, saying, 'I can't use my own name when making reservations or business meetings because people will think it's a prank call and hang up.' 'My life sometimes feels like that Michael Jordan ESPN commercial, constantly causing confusion with a regular person's name.' 'Once, while giving a speech in Las Vegas, a limousine driver was waiting for me at the bottom of an escalator holding a 'Mark Zuckerberg' sign, causing chaos with a disappointed crowd.'
Zuckerberg is seeking immediate reinstatement of his account from Meta, as well as payment of $11,000 for legal fees and lost advertising costs. After the lawsuit was reported, Zuckerberg's Facebook account was reinstated.
Zuckerberg, who has faced various troubles over the years due to having the same name as CEO Zuckerberg, has launched a website called 'iammarkzuckerberg.com' to summarize how his name has influenced his life.
