Instagram for iOS/iPadOS introduced a design for iPad in version 396.0.0, released on September 4. Users can now download the app specifically designed for iPad.
Instagram for iPad has undergone several design changes to accommodate larger screens than smartphones.
For example, when you launch the app, 'Reels' opens automatically, Stories are displayed at the top of the screen, and the Messages and Notifications tabs are displayed simultaneously, allowing you to access the messaging function with one tap. When watching Reels, you can play the video in full size while enlarging the comments section, making it easy to follow users' reactions while watching the video.
It looks like this.

If you turn your device sideways, you can view the reel video on the left and the comments on the right.

If you view it vertically, the comments section will overlap the video.

Instagram for iPad also has a new 'Following' tab, which allows you to view timelines for 'All,' 'Friends,' and 'Recent.' You can also select the order in which these feeds are displayed to prioritize them.

Instagram for iPad is available worldwide on iPad models running iPadOS 15.1 or later, with support for Android tablets coming soon.
'We've received a lot of requests from our users, and we've taken the time to design an optimized experience that lets you enjoy the best of Instagram on a big screen,' Meta said.
