The Framework Laptop 16 is a modular laptop released in January 2024. Its major feature is that all components, including the battery, screen, keyboard, CPU, and various ports, are replaceable. The Framework Laptop 16 also supports replaceable graphics cards, but until now, the only graphics card module available was the Framework Laptop 16 Graphics Module (AMD Radeon RX 7700S) . While the specifications stated that the graphics card could be replaced, there was only one compatible module.

The overall design of the Framework Laptop 16 has also been upgraded, with a new 2560x1600 resolution, 165Hz monitor that supports NVIDIA G-SYNC . To complement the improved performance, the laptop now includes a USB Type-C charging adapter with a maximum output of 240W.
The development team also considered other ideas, such as a larger haptic feedback touchpad and thinner bezels, but these were not implemented in this upgrade.
