France launches investigation into Kick streamer Jean Pormanove's “mistreatment” & death - Dexerto

After 10 days of nonstop streaming, the 46-year-old Graben was found motionless in front of the camera. His fellow streamers noticed something was wrong and tried shaking him and pouring water on him, but he was not able to wake up. He was later pronounced dead.

'The nonstop streams Graben conducted were not just gameplay streams, but torture streams in which he was forbidden to sleep, subjected to physical violence and humiliating acts, and even forced to drink toxic substances. Around 2023, Graben began streaming with other streamers, and at the time of his death, he was with streamers Naruto (Owen Senazandotti) and Safine (Safine Amadi).

On social media, videos of the brutal torture of Mr. Graben, which were streamed on Kick, and screenshots of the torture, have been circulating. Please note that from this paragraph onwards, embedded videos and screenshots of the torture stream will be displayed. Please note that both are extremely shocking, so please be careful when viewing them.

Graben originally streamed alone, but around 2023 he began to receive extreme abuse from other streamers, including Senazandotti and Amadi. In the video below, Graben is being punched.

The stream was apparently intended to feature Graben's reactions, and viewers were apparently hoping to abuse him.

During his streams, Graben has been choked, shot with paintballs, and even drowned.

However, it is said that the reason why Graben did not leave Senazandotti and Amadi is because before he met them, he was lonely and had no friends, living with his mother and surviving on welfare and a small income from streaming.

Senazandotti and Amadi repeatedly told Graben they were friends who had rescued him from loneliness and poverty, and that without them and the income he made from streaming, he would never have a wife and children.

While Graben's extreme streams certainly earned him a lot of money, he was constantly forced to choose between continuing to be tortured by his friends and maintaining his income, or returning to his mother's house, knowing he would lose his income. The apartment he rented was owned by a relative of one of the members, who threatened to leave him penniless and out on the street if he said he wanted to quit.

Graben's final message to his mother reads: 'I've had enough of their game. I'm so tired of being trapped in this ridiculous concept. I want to get away but he won't let me go. He's keeping me trapped.'

Clara Chapers, France's Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Affairs, said: 'The death of Jean Polmanove and the violence he suffered are an absolute atrocity. My heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. Jean Polmanove was publicly humiliated and abused on the Kick platform for several months. A judicial investigation is currently underway. I have filed a complaint with ARCOM (the Audiovisual and Digital Communications Regulator) and reported it to PHAROS (an online reporting platform). I have also contacted the platform's managers to ask for an explanation. The responsibility of online platforms for distributing illegal content is not an option. It is established by law. Such shortcomings have the potential to lead to the worst possible outcomes and should not exist anywhere, not just in France or Europe.'
