The development of humanoid robots is progressing at a furious pace in China, with some companies already selling robots commercially to the general public . The 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games, a global sports competition for humanoid robots, was held in China. A total of 280 teams from 16 countries, including Japan, participated in the event.

The three official events were track and field, gymnastics, and soccer, and there were also exhibition events featuring dance and tai chi.

The track and field events included the 100m, 400m, 1500m, 4x100m relay, 100m obstacle course, standing long jump, and standing high jump. The footrace featured both fully autonomous and remote-controlled robots, with the rule that 'fully autonomous robots' times would be multiplied by a coefficient of 0.8.'

In the 100m race, the fully autonomous robot 'Gushin TienKung Ultra' developed by China's

TienKung Robotics won with a time of 21.50 seconds after multiplying by 0.8.

During the soccer game, there was even an incident where the robots collided with each other and fell over.

If the robot cannot stand up on its own, a human referee will intervene.

In addition, related events such as basketball, table tennis, group dance, and kickboxing were also held. You can see the robots kickboxing in action in the video below.
