I tried Acecook's 'Spicy Travel Enma no Namida Sapporo Umakara Miso Ramen,' which contains the famous 'Enma no Namida' (tears of Enma) and has a spicy taste that permeates the corners of your mouth.

As a new summer product in Acecook's 'Spicy Journey' series, which explores spicy and delicious foods from all over Japan, 'Spicy Journey Sapporo Spicy Miso Ramen with Enma no Namida,' which uses the local seasoning 'Enma no Namida' from Noboribetsu, Hokkaido, was released in August 2025. I bought it and tried it.

'Enma no Namida' was developed as a chili oil to add spiciness to Noboribetsu's local food, 'Noboribetsu Enma Yakisoba,' and is sold as a souvenir as it can be used for more than just 'Noboribetsu Enma Yakisoba.'

The package looks like this: It is designed to look like King Enma has tears spilling from his eyes with the word 'spicy' written on it.
The ingredients are as follows: the soup contains powdered miso, miso, spices, pork fat, pork extract, okara powder, chicken extract, seafood extract, pork seasoning, sesame, etc.

One serving of 93g contains 382kcal.

The lid is coated with seasoning oil.

When you open the lid, you will find a packet of liquid soup inside, so take it out.
Pour in hot water and wait 5 minutes. Meanwhile, heat the seasoning oil on the lid.

After 5 minutes, add the liquid soup and seasoning oil.

Mix from the bottom and it's done. The intense spiciness rises with the heat, and you'll find yourself choking when you try to slurp the noodles. Even when cooked exactly as planned, the cubed noodles don't soften much, retaining their texture, and the oil containing the spiciness clings to them just right, gushing into your mouth. While it's assumed that people who don't like spicy food should avoid this from the start, the balance of spiciness and flavor is just right for a spicy instant noodle, and even though you'll think, 'Wow, it's spicy...!', you can keep slurping it down. While I did feel a tingling sensation in the corners of my mouth while eating, it subsided once I finished, and I was left feeling quite satisfied after the meal. The soup also pairs well with rice, so even if you're concerned about salt, you'll probably want to order a noodle and rice set.
