Review of Karcher's high-pressure washer 'OC Handy Compact' that can be held in one hand and can be attached to a commercially available plastic bottle as a tank

Karcher has released the OC Handy Compact , a rechargeable mobile high-pressure washer that can be carried around without having to worry about cords. It can be filled with water from a bucket or other container using the included hose, and can also be filled with water from a plastic bottle without a hose. I was able to borrow the product from Karcher, so I tried it out.

The 'OC Handy Compact' has arrived.

The contents include the OC Handy Compact, a 5m hose, a 4-in-1 nozzle, a cleaning agent nozzle, a hose clip, a USB Type-C cable, a plastic bottle adapter, and an instruction manual.

This is the OC Handy Compact itself. It weighs about 780g and is compact enough to hold in one hand.

Hold the grip part and open it, and it will click into place.

This is what it looks like after it's fixed. The dimensions are 184mm long x 71mm wide x 186mm high.

When you hold it in your hand, it looks like this:

The trigger lever is located where your index finger would touch when you hold it in your hand. When you press the trigger lever, water is sprayed out.

There is a hole in the nozzle.

Before you can use it, you need to attach the 4-in-1 nozzle to the nozzle. Below is the 4-in-1 nozzle, which has four holes on the front.

This is what it looks like when the 4-in-1 nozzle is attached.

By turning the tip of the attached 4-in-1 nozzle, you can switch between four water flow patterns: ' Shower Mode ' for watering and rinsing away dirt; ' Point Jet Mode ' for powerful removal of dirt from a single spot; ' Standard Mode ' for removing dirt with a wide, fan-shaped water jet; and ' Tilt Mode ' which is ideal for tight spaces or when a specific angle is required.

You can also attach a detergent nozzle instead of the 4-in-1 nozzle. The detergent nozzle requires

Kärcher pressure washer detergent , which is sold separately, and we won't be using it in this review.

There is a charging port at the bottom of the grip.

The charging port is hidden by a waterproof cover. It can be charged using the included USB Type-C cable and a commercially available USB charger that supports 5V/2A or more. Charging takes approximately three hours.

Below the nozzle is the water intake, which can be connected to a hose or a plastic bottle to supply water.

To use a plastic bottle, first prepare a 28mm plastic bottle, fill it with water, and then attach the plastic bottle adapter. The plastic bottle adapter can be easily attached just like tightening the cap of a plastic bottle, but be careful not to tighten it too much as it will be difficult to remove later.

Then, insert the tip of the plastic bottle adapter into the water intake port and twist it slightly to complete the installation.

This is what it looks like when you hold it. The OC Handy Compact is sturdy, so even when you grip it with a heavy plastic bottle attached, it doesn't feel like it's creaking. For a 2L plastic bottle, it will take about 50 seconds to use up the water.

If you are using a hose, first prepare a bucket or something similar and fill it with water.

Next, place the hose's intake end into the bucket. At this time, you can secure the hose to the bucket with a hose clip.

Simply attach the hose's outlet to the main unit's water inlet and you're done.

We actually tried spraying water. In the video below, you can see how the point jet mode, with its strongest jet power, was used to spray moss stuck to the ground. The dirt was stubborn, so it couldn't be completely removed, but you could see the surface dirt coming off smoothly along the jet. The maximum allowable pressure of the 'OC Handy Compact' is 1.5 MPa, which is nearly seven times the water pressure of a regular tap.

I used the standard mode to remove the dust from the balcony wall.

Additionally, by pressing the 'ECO' button on the back of the unit, you can switch from the normal boost mode to eco mode, which reduces water volume and allows for longer use.

The estimated continuous usage time for each mode is as follows:

Water flow pattern mode Continuous use time

Shower Mode

Boost 25 minutes
Eco half an hour
Point Jet Mode Boost 12 minutes
Eco 22 minutes
Standard Mode Boost 12 minutes
Eco 24 minutes
Tilt Mode Boost 12 minutes
Eco 24 minutes

Even with the most powerful point jet mode, it was unable to remove some of the stubborn stains.

It may be quicker to wipe the areas you can reach with your hands.

The OC Handy Compact was first sold in June 2025 on the crowdfunding service Makuake for 12,330 yen (tax included) and sold out. It will be released to the general public in the future, with pricing to be announced as soon as it is decided.
