Acecook's 'Osaka Takoyaki-flavored Yakisoba' is certainly a product that feels like takoyaki, not yakisoba.

Acecook, headquartered in Suita, Osaka Prefecture, released ' Osaka Takoyaki-Flavored Yakisoba' on Monday, August 4, 2025, a Kansai food manufacturer that is particular about 'Osaka -ness.' 'It's basically a sauce flavor, so isn't it the same?' I wondered, but I tried the actual product.

The packaging for the Osaka Takoyaki Yakisoba looks like this. It's red, white, and blue with stars, and if it weren't for the text, you'd be forgiven for thinking it was something American.

On the side, an octopus dressed like an Osaka lady with large earrings and a leopard print shirt was saying, 'It's really delicious!'

The ingredients are as follows. It turns out that the newly developed takoyaki-style filling is an 'octopus-flavored egg processed product.' One serving (110g) contains 465kcal.

First, open the lid and take out the three bags inside.
Just put the toppings in the bowl. I think there are snacks like this.

Pour the specified amount of hot water and wait 4 minutes.

Once drained, add the sauce and mix.

While mixing, I dug up some takoyaki-style ingredients.

Finally, sprinkle on some furikake and it's done.

From the outside, it looked like it lacked ingredients, and honestly, it gave the impression of being a 'pretty cheap cup of yakisoba.' However, when I tried it, I noticed that it was seasoned with seafood extracts and seafood seasonings to give it an 'Osaka takoyaki flavor,' giving it a distinct seafood flavor, and it certainly has a taste that sets it apart from traditional cup yakisoba. The takoyaki-style ingredients were quite small and didn't contain any octopus, so I thought, 'Is this really takoyaki...?' However, when the sauce was combined with the fluffy and soft texture, it was certainly called 'takoyaki-style,' so it wasn't a mistake, and the overall result was 'yakisoba with takoyaki elements.' However, the lack of ingredients was a bit too lonely, and that didn't really change the point.

'Osaka Takoyaki Yakisoba' will be on sale from Monday, August 4, 2025, at a suggested retail price of 256 yen (excluding tax). On Rakuten Market, a 12-meal set was sold for 3,080 yen (257 yen per piece), including tax and with free shipping to Honshu.
