To celebrate the release of 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu

no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Castle Arc Chapter 1 - Akaza Returns,' an announcement event for the 'Demon Slayer Kanji' was held at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine in Kyoto, where voters on the anime's official website chose the 'one kanji that best represents Demon Slayer.' The winning kanji, 'Metsu' (destruction), was announced in a performance by calligrapher Tomoko Kawao.



Tanjiro and Nezuko, members of the corps, posed for a commemorative photo with Kawao's 'Metsu' (Destruction) between them.



The total number of votes was 23,318, with 5,886 for 'Metsu' (Destruction), 2,628 for 'Kizuna' (Bond), and 2,208 for 'Oni' (Demon). The rest of the votes were 'Tsunagi' (Connection), 'Katana' (Sword), 'Honoo' (Flame), 'Keido' (Continuation), 'Mu' (Nothing), 'Hashira' (Hashira), and 'Ren' (Bren).
