Bitcoin price surpasses $120,000 for the first time, with momentum to rise further

In the past three months, the cryptocurrency market has been on an upward trend, with the price of Bitcoin, the most representative cryptocurrency, surpassing $120,000 (approximately 17.7 million yen) for the first time in history. Experts have expressed the view that since US policies are favorable to cryptocurrencies, prices are likely to continue to rise in the future.

Before Donald Trump became the 47th president , the price of Bitcoin had not reached $80,000 (about 11.8 million yen), but under the Trump administration it has surpassed the $100,000 mark.
When President Trump agreed to tariff negotiations with the UK, the price of Bitcoin rose and exceeded $100,000, and it is predicted to exceed $120,000 by June 2025 - GIGAZINE

By late May 2025, it exceeded $110,000 (approximately 16.25 million yen).

And in July 2025, it finally hit the $120,000 mark.
President Trump, a proponent of cryptocurrencies to the point of calling himself the 'cryptocurrency president,' has a major influence, and analyst Tony Sycamore says that the president's support, demand from institutional investors, and expectations of further price increases are all factors that are driving the trend for cryptocurrencies.
Sycamore said the price movement over the past week has been so strong that it's impossible to tell where it will stop, and that it could easily reach around $125,000 (about 18.5 million yen).
'This signals the maturation of the view that Bitcoin is not just a speculative asset but a macro hedge and a structurally scarce store of value,' said George Mandres, a trader at XBTO Trading, which manages cryptocurrency mutual funds.
In addition, news site Fast Company points out that in the second half of 2021, the price of Bitcoin reached a record-breaking $64,000 (about 9.45 million yen) at the time, and then in 2022, a 'cryptocurrency winter' hit, and it took two years for the price to return to its original level, so 'it's important to keep in mind that we've been this far before.'
