iOS 26 FaceTime stops calls if someone starts taking off their clothes

iOS 26 , announced at Apple's annual developer conference ' WWDC25 ' held in June 2025, will feature a new UI design ' Liquid Glass ', as well as major upgrades to Apple's native apps such as 'Apple Music', 'Maps', and 'Wallet'. In addition, the developer beta version released at the time of writing has revealed that iOS 26 will include a feature that stops FaceTime calls when the other person begins to take off their clothes.

Users of the iOS 26 developer beta have reported that taking off your clothes during a FaceTime call causes FaceTime to pause the video call.

An alert appears on the screen asking if you want to resume audio and video or end the call.

Apple already has a ' Communication Safety' feature in the Messages app on iOS 15.2 or later, iPadOS 15.2 or later, watchOS 9 or later, macOS Monterey 12.1 or later, or visionOS 2 or later that uses on-device machine learning to determine whether photos and attached video files contain nudity .

Additionally, Apple announced that iOS 26 will 'expand tools parents can use to protect children and teens online.' This will not only simplify access to parental controls, but also 'enhance safer communications, intervene when nudity is detected in FaceTime video calls, and blur nudity in shared photo albums,' Apple said.

The FaceTime nudity prevention feature revealed this time was confirmed only in the developer beta version, and it is unclear whether it is the intended behavior or a bug that somehow applies to adult accounts as well as a function that should only be applied to children's accounts.

In addition, Apple states that 'because photos and videos are analyzed on your child's device, Apple is not notified that nude images have been detected, and therefore Apple does not have access to the photos or videos,' and it appeals that Apple does not know the content of messages or calls.
