WRI is a mechanism in which security companies such as Bitdefender, CrowdStrike, ESET, SentinelOne, Trellix, and TrendMicro collaborate with Microsoft to support the recovery and security of the Windows platform. Microsoft announces the introduction of the 'Windows Resiliency Initiative' including 'Quick Machine Recovery' that can remotely recover unbootable PCs - GIGAZINE

WRI has announced that it will include a new feature called 'Quick Machine Recovery' that will enable remote repair of PCs that cannot boot.
'Resilient systems are important because they allow you to maintain productivity and minimize disruption. But unexpected restarts can cause delays and impact business continuity, so we're streamlining the experience during unexpected restarts,' Microsoft said.
As part of this effort, Microsoft has improved the crash dump collection feature in Windows 11 version 24H2, which Microsoft reports has reduced downtime during an unexpected reboot to about two seconds in most cases.
To reduce downtime, the company also announced that it would simplify the user interface. Previously, various information was displayed on a blue screen, but now it will be a simple black screen like the one shown below. The center of the screen shows an explanation of the situation and the progress of the process, and the bottom of the screen shows the stop code and the problematic system driver.

'This is a real attempt at clarification and better information so that we and our customers can really understand the core of the problem and get it resolved quicker,' David Weston, Microsoft's vice president of enterprise and operating system security, told The Verge. 'The goal is to provide more clarity around what the problem is, whether it's with Windows or with a component.'
Microsoft has announced that the black screen will be available to all Windows 11 version 24H2 devices starting in late summer 2025.
The blue background of the blue screen has been considered for a black screen in the past, but the UI was not changed and the blue screen has since been reverted to.
