Introducing 'Form UDP Gothic,' which is 99.99% the same as BIZ UDP Gothic but has numbers with equal spacing for a uniform look.

BIZ UDP Gothic is a universal design font designed to be easy to read for many people, with the assumption that it will be used in education and business document creation. The IT and development community ' Programming Live Broadcast ' has released a font called 'Form UDP Gothic' on GitHub, which is 99.99% the same as BIZ UDP Gothic , but with only the width of '1' (half-width) and '1' (full-width) changed, and all numbers are made equal-width.

BIZ UDP Gothic is an easy-to-read font that is used in a wide range of fields, but the number '1' has a different width from the other numbers, so when you enter a lot of numbers, they will be of different lengths even though they have the same number of digits.

So we created 'Form UDP Gothic' by changing only the width of '1' so that the same number of digits have the same length regardless of the breakdown of the numbers. As shown below, BIZ UDP Gothic has different lengths for the same number of digits, but if you use Form UDP Gothic, the lengths will be unified.

UDP Gothic can be downloaded from GitHub, so I tried it out. First, open Notepad, set the font to 'BIZ UDP Gothic', and arrange half-width numbers in various formats.

You can see that although the number of digits is the same in each case, the width of the '1' is different from the other digits, so the length varies slightly depending on how many '1's are mixed in.

Next, let's try using 'UDP Gothic'. First, open the GitHub Release page and download the font's 'TTF' file.

When you open the downloaded TTF file in the Windows font viewer, it looks like this. Click 'Install' to be able to use UDP Gothic in Notepad and other applications.

I immediately set the font in Notepad to UDP Gothic.

Just like before, I tried entering a lot of half-width numbers, and if they had the same number of digits, they were displayed at exactly the same length.

If you compare BIZ UDP Gothic (above) with Report UDP Gothic (below), the difference is immediately clear.

In addition, 'Form UDP Mincho', which unifies the number width of 'BIZ UDP Mincho', has also been released.
