Reverse engineer Aaron Peris reported in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that he found code in an Apple software release that suggests the release of AirPods Pro 3 is imminent.

In the screenshots shared by Peris, the code that referenced a task that required AirPods Pro 2 has been revised to require 'AirPods Pro 2 or later.' This means that Apple is preparing the software so that some of the current code that required AirPods Pro 2 will also work with AirPods Pro 3.

Does this mean the release of AirPods Pro 3 is imminent? Not really.

However, all of the AirPods Pro series that have been released so far have been released in the fall, and Apple tends to release its flagship new AirPods products at the same time as the iPhone.

Based on this, 9to5Mac said, 'Apple will likely launch the AirPods Pro 3 in September 2025, alongside the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and Apple Watch Ultra 3.'

The AirPods Pro 3 is expected to feature a new H3 chip, improved active noise cancellation, and other new features. Also, with the release of the Powerbeats Pro 2 wireless earbuds with heart rate monitoring sensors, it is expected that the AirPods Pro 3 will have similar features.

'If the price remains the same, the suggested retail price for the AirPods Pro 3 will be the same as the AirPods Pro 2, at $249 (about 36,100 yen). However, there is always a possibility that the price could rise due to the Trump administration's ever-changing tariff plans,' said AppleInsider, a foreign media outlet.
