PlayStation 5 now supports Apple Pay

PlayStation 5 (PS5) users can now use Apple Pay to purchase games, paid items, etc. Apple Pay has been available for some time on the PlayStation Store browser and mobile app, but it will now also be available on the PS5.

When purchasing content from the PlayStation Store on PS5, you can now pay with Apple Pay. When you select Apple Pay as your payment method, a special code will be displayed to scan with your iPhone or iPad. When you scan this code, the Apple Pay payment screen will be displayed on your iPhone or iPad. Then, select the credit card you want to use with Apple Pay and authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID to complete the payment.
Actually, try purchasing a game from the PlayStation Store on PS5. Select the price.

Select the three dots next to 'Buy Now.'

Select 'Change payment method.'

Select 'Pay with Apple Pay.'

The billing address will then change to 'Apple Pay'. Then just select 'Purchase'.

The following special code will be displayed, so just read it on your iPhone or iPad and complete the payment.

Starting with iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, released in September 2024, Apple has been providing the ability to use Apple Pay via a dedicated code. This makes it possible to use Apple Pay on third-party browsers such as Chrome.

Apple Pay is already available on the PS5, but according to 9to5Mac, it will be available on the PS4 as well in a future software update.
