Microsoft announces 13-inch 'Surface Laptop' and 12-inch 'Surface Pro'
Microsoft has announced new models of its notebook PC 'Surface Laptop' and 2-in-1 PC 'Surface Pro' that can also be used in tablet style. The new models are even thinner and lighter, with the Surface Laptop being 13 inches and the Surface Pro being 12 inches, making them the smallest models.

The 13-inch Surface Laptop is powered by an 8-core Snapdragon X Plus processor. Battery life is up to 23 hours with local video playback and up to 16 hours with active web browsing. The dimensions of the device are 285.65mm x 214.14mm x 15.6mm, and it weighs 1.22kg. It has one USB 3.1 USB-A port and two USB 3.2 USB-C ports.

The 13-inch Surface Laptop model is scheduled to ship in June 2025. The price in the United States starts at $899 (about 128,600 yen). The price in Japan has not yet been announced.
The 12-inch Surface Pro also has an 8-core Snapdragon X Plus processor. Battery life is up to 16 hours with local video playback and up to 12 hours with active web browsing. The dimensions of the device are 274mm x 190mm x 7.8mm, and it weighs 686g. It has two USB 3.2 USB-C ports. Note that a power adapter is not included, and you will need to prepare a separate USB-C power adapter of 27W or more.

The Surface Pro 12-inch model is scheduled to ship in June 2025. The price in the United States starts at $799 (about 114,300 yen). The price in Japan has not yet been announced.
