'Terralique' was named due to the sheer amount of information leaked, and at the time of writing, the title of the next-generation Pokemon series, builds of old games, a large amount of concept art, internal company documents, and more were leaked.
Nintendo is asking a California court to force Discord to provide users' personal information in order to uncover the identity of the person behind Telarique. Polygon, a gaming media outlet that obtained the court filings , reported that 'Nintendo filed a subpoena in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on April 18, requesting the disclosure of the leaker's name, address, phone number, and email address.'
In an affidavit attached to the subpoena, Nintendo alleges that a Discord user named 'GameFreakOUT' posted 'non-public confidential materials' to a Discord server called FreakLeak, which Nintendo believes led to the distribution of confidential Nintendo materials on the Internet.

Nintendo has attempted to remove the leaked data using
Nintendo's attorney, James D. Barkley, explained that the purpose of the subpoena was to 'disclose the identity of the Discord user 'GameFreakOUT' who posted the infringing content.'
Nintendo attached a screenshot from FreakLeak to its affidavit, where GameFreakOUT encouraged users to 'enjoy.'

Telarique was released on or around October 12, 2024, and Game Freak released a statement on October 10, 2024, prior to the leak, reporting that they had been hacked.
Polygon reports, 'While a subpoena like this doesn't necessarily indicate a lawsuit, it's likely that Nintendo will sue the leaker. Nintendo has filed similar lawsuits in connection to Pokémon, specifically when photos of strategy guides for Pokémon Sword and Shield were spread online. Given the materials the leaker allegedly obtained, such as information about an early version of the upcoming Pokémon LEGENDS ZA, it's clear that Nintendo is eager to get the court's help in preventing data leaks.'
