I bought Yotsuba butter, but it was subject to a voluntary recall due to contamination, so I compiled the delivery address and how to tell if it was contaminated.

On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, Yotsuba Dairy announced that its butter had been contaminated with foreign matter and began a product recall. The butter purchased by GIGAZINE's editorial staff was also subject to recall, so we have compiled a list of how to tell if the product is subject to recall and the shipping address.

This is salt-free Yotsuya butter that I bought on April 6, 2025.

The butter was used for cooking and baking, but at around 7 p.m. on April 15, 2025, I discovered a news item on the NHK news site that read, '

Apparently, an 18mm long stainless steel wire had been found in the butter.

I tried to access

The 'Apology and Notice Regarding Product Recall' states that 'if you send the recalled items via refrigerated delivery to Yotsuba Dairy Products with postage due, we will send you a refund for the products at a later date.'
The recall applies to a wide range of products, both salted and salt-free, with expiration dates between April 30, 2025 and October 8, 2025, and products with manufacturing control numbers starting with 'CC.'

The manufacturing control number is written on the side of the outer box.

Once again, this is the salt-free Yotsuba butter purchased by the editorial staff of GIGAZINE.

The expiration date was July 12, 2025, and the manufacturing control number was ' CC SFH023016.' Since the expiration date is between April 30, 2025 and October 8, 2025, and the manufacturing control number begins with 'CC,' the product is subject to recall.

Just to be sure, I removed the wrapper and checked the butter, but I didn't find any foreign objects. However, there is a possibility that there may be foreign objects inside, or that there may be foreign objects of an invisible size mixed in, so I will have it recalled.

The recalled products can be sent to Yotsuba Dairy Co., Ltd. by refrigerated delivery to the postal code '080-0104,' the address '20-3 Shindori, Otofuke-cho, Kato-gun, Hokkaido,' and the name 'Yotsuba Dairy Co., Ltd. Tokachi Main Factory.'

Checking the location on Google Maps looks like this.
So I pack the butter into a cardboard box.

I closed the lid with duct tape.

I asked Yamato Transport

I'll post an update if there are any progress.
