The incident occurred on Saturday, April 12, 2025 local time. In the video below, taken in Palo Alto, a voice resembling Musk's can be heard saying 'Hi! This is Elon Musk' when the pedestrian push button is pressed. The Musk-like voice continues, 'Welcome to Palo Alto, home of Tesla Engineering. They say money can't buy happiness. I've tried it and it's true. But money can buy a Cybertruck. Right? Damn, I'm alone.'

Here's another video taken in Palo Alto: The audio seems to change with each press of the button, and in this video, the voice says, 'Hey! I'm Elon. Can we be friends? Can you be my friend? I'll give you a Cybertruck. I promise. I'll go to any length to satisfy my need for approval.'

The conversation between fake Musk and fake Trump is also recorded. In the video below, fake Musk confesses, 'The funny thing is, I thought he was a big idiot. But once I got to know him, he was a very sweet, kind, loving person,' followed by a voice from a traffic light saying, 'My love, come back to bed.'

In addition, a voice that sounds like Mark Zuckerberg was recorded saying, 'Hey, I'm Mark Zuckerberg. Everyone calls me 'Zuck.' It's normal to feel uncomfortable or violated by the current situation where AI is forcibly invading every aspect of your consciousness. And I can assure you, you don't need to worry, because there is no way to stop it. See you later.' This audio was apparently played not only at Palo Alto but also at traffic lights in Redwood City.

'We have determined that 12 intersections are affected,' said Palo Alto spokeswoman Megan Horrigan Taylor. 'Other traffic lights across the city have been inspected and the impact is limited.'
