A teaser trailer for The Naked Gun , a reboot of the popular 1988 comedy film The

Naked Gun starring Leslie Nielsen, has been released. The film is directed by Akiva Schafer of Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers , stars Liam Neeson , and will be released in the United States on August 1, 2025.

The original 'Naked Gun' was a trilogy of films derived from an American comedy-drama. Detective Frank Drebin, played by Leslie Nielsen, who died in 2010, was also deceased in the film.



Liam Neeson plays Frank Drebin Jr., the son of Frank Drebin, who, like his father, is a detective with the Los Angeles Police Department and speaks in front of the memorial panel at the police station.



It appears that the children of the original series' regular cast members all serve with the LAPD, and many of them spoke tearfully at the memorial panel.
