Meta plans to offer 'Hypernova' smart glasses with an information display screen inside the lens by 2025

In 2021, Meta released Ray-Ban Stories , a pair of smart glasses developed in collaboration with the sunglasses brand Ray-Ban, for $299 (approximately 44,800 yen). Bloomberg reports that a new pair of smart glasses called Hypernova , which will be more than three times that price, at least $1,000 (approximately 150,000 yen), is expected to be available in 2025.

With Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, you can take and share photos and videos, make video calls, live stream, make phone calls, send SMS, and more, all with voice commands. In addition, by linking with the Meta View app, you can view and save photos and videos you have taken, and manage settings.
The Hypernova has an information display screen in the bottom right quadrant of the right lens, and the screen displayed in the Meta View app can be displayed inside the smart glasses. It also supports gesture control.
The price is expected to be between $1,300 (about 195,000 yen) and $1,400 (about 210,000 yen), according to a Meta official. The device is expected to be released sometime in 2025.
Meta is already working on the Hypernova 2, which will display information on both lenses, and plans to release it in 2027.
