Google announced the Pixel 9a , a budget model of the Pixel 9 series, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. The Pixel 9a comes in four colors: Iris, Peony, Porcelain, and Obsidian. Iris looks like this. The display is an OLED display, with a size of 6.3 inches, an aspect ratio of 20:9, a resolution of 1080 x 2424 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, a peak brightness of 2700 nits, and a cover glass of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The back is equipped with a 48-megapixel wide camera and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The Pixel series from the Pixel 6 onwards has been characterized by a large camera bar on the back, but the Pixel 9a does not have a camera bar, and the protrusion of the camera part is kept small.
The Pixel 9a also has IP68 waterproof and dustproof capabilities.

The price of the Pixel 9a is $499 (approximately 74,400 yen) for the minimum configuration. However, the start date of reservations has not yet been decided. Regarding the reason for the delay in accepting reservations, which was expected to start in March 2025, Google told overseas media outlet The Verge that 'We are investigating a quality issue with a part that is affecting a small number of Pixel 9a units.' It is unclear what specific issues are being investigated.
