Founded in 2017, AdHawk Microsystems specializes in developing advanced gaze tracking technology that bridges the connection between the eyes and the brain. Its proprietary Micro-Electro-Mechanical (MEMS) eye trackers enable efficient gaze tracking at high sampling rates without the need for cameras.
AdHawk Microsystems has previously released the MindLink eye tracker for researchers and clinicians, the MindLink Air fitness tracker that uses eye tracking technology, and a scanner module for eye tracking, and has previously raised $22.3 million (approximately 3.3 billion yen) from companies such as Intel, Samsung, and Sony.

Meanwhile, Google announced Android XR , an OS for XR (cross reality), in December 2024, demonstrating strong interest in the AR/VR headset field. In addition, in January 2025, to strengthen Android XR, the company hired members of the engineering team that worked on the VR device 'VIVE' at HTC for $250 million (approximately 38.8 billion yen).

Neither Google nor AdHawk Microsystems spokespeople have commented on the report.
