HMD Amped Buds are wireless earphones with excellent sound quality, active noise cancellation (ANC), and electronic noise cancellation (ENC). They are not just wireless earphones, but the earphone charging case also functions as a mobile battery that can wirelessly charge smartphones such as the HMD Skyline and iPhone. In other words, you can wirelessly charge smartphones that support Qi2 and MagSafe.

The charging case is Qi2 compatible, has a battery capacity of 1600mAh, weighs 80g, and is only 14mm thick. The case is made of aluminum alloy and has a matte finish, giving it a luxurious look. It comes in three colors: black, cyan, and pink. The earphones are also waterproof to IP54 standards, and the charging case is dustproof to IPX4 standards, so they can be used without problems even in the rain.

The earphones are stored on the side of the charging case as shown below.

The HMD Amped Buds were announced at MWC in Barcelona, Spain, and technology media The Verge photographed the device.

It's actually surprisingly compact when you hold it in your hand.

The earphones stored on the side appear to protrude from the charging case.

The earphone body looks like this.

The charging case can also be used to charge your smartphone via a USB-C cable.

The battery capacity of the charging case of the HMD Amped Buds is 1600mAh, which HMD claims is 'about 300% more than competing wireless earphones.' For the iPhone 16, it can be attached to the back and charge the battery from 0% to a maximum of 20%. In addition, it can be charged up to 24% when using wired charging. In addition, the charging case can be used to charge the earphones more than 10 times, and the case can be used to play music for up to 95 hours.

The Verge writes, 'This is a clever concept. Many people are already used to carrying earphones, so you don't have to develop a new habit. Just carry your earphones as you normally do, and you'll have a spare battery for when your smartphone battery runs low. '

The selling price of HMD Amped Buds is 199 euros (about 31,000 yen).
