Pixel Watch 3 receives FDA clearance for loss of pulse detection

The Pixel Watch 3's life-saving feature is coming to more places
'Pulse loss detection' is a feature that automatically makes an emergency call when it detects that the wearer's pulse has stopped, and is first featured in the Pixel Watch series on the Pixel Watch 3.
'Google Pixel Watch 3' is here, with a larger and brighter display, longer battery life, and a 'loss of pulse detection' function that will call an emergency call if your pulse stops - GIGAZINE

However, from the time of launch in September 2024, the feature will only be available in 11 European countries: the UK, Ireland, Portugal, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
In December 2024, Spain, Italy, and Belgium joined, making it available in 14 countries.
The feature will be available in the US from the end of March 2025.
'Over the past three years, the Pixel Watch has given people peace of mind with safety and health features like Car Collision Detection, Fall Detection, Arrhythmia Detection, ECG App, and Safety Check. Pulse Loss Detection is a great addition to these potentially life-saving tools,' Google said.
There is no information regarding the planned availability in Japan.
