A Reddit user who claims to own a Jeep Grand Cherokee reported that every time they stop their car, a pop-up ad takes over the entire infotainment screen. Even if they press 'OK,' the ad just keeps coming back.

The pop-up ad that appears is shown below. The screen reads, ' FlexCare (Jeep's paid extended support) premium plan is factory-backed and provides peace of mind in the event of a mechanical breakdown. Press the 'Call' button to speak to an expert. However, to purchase the premium plan, your vehicle must have less than 36,000 miles on the odometer,' which makes it clear that this is an advertisement for a paid extended warranty.

According to the owner, he drives a 2022 Grand Cherokee and recently started seeing this pop-up ad. The pop-up ad appears every time he stops the car, and even if he selects 'OK' on the screen once, the ad appears over and over again. The person who reported the problem said that he '

reached 36,000 miles last week ' and that the ad continues to appear even though he is no longer covered by the FlexCare premium plan.

When The Drive contacted Jeep, a spokesperson for the company said, 'This was an in-vehicle message designed to inform Jeep customers about their extended vehicle care options. A temporary software glitch affected the immediate opt-out feature in some isolated cases, but immediate opt-out is standard for all our in-vehicle messages. Jeep has already identified and fixed the error and is following up directly with customers to ensure the issue has been fully resolved.'

This isn't the first time Jeep has plagued owners with this type of message: The Drive reports that a similar message appeared in the in-car infotainment of the 2023 Wrangler and Gladiator .

You can turn off the Jeep extended warranty message by going to Jeep Connect and disabling the 'In-Car Notifications' option, but you'll need to create a dedicated account to do so.
