Amazon has announced that it is testing a new feature that will show users who search for products on the Amazon Shopping app not only 'products sold by Amazon' but also 'products not sold by Amazon.'

If a customer taps on a product that is not available on Amazon, they will be shown a warning that they are leaving Amazon and will be redirected to the brand's site only after tapping 'Continue to site', where they can purchase the product directly.

Some of the brands Amazon redirects to also offer a checkout service called 'Buy with Prime,' which allows Amazon Prime members to use their Amazon account and payment information to transact on retailer websites. Products purchased using this service will enjoy the same fast shipping, easy returns, and customer support as Amazon Prime.

The introduction of this feature is expected to enable retailers to sell a wider range of products.

The feature is currently being rolled out as a beta and is being tested only on a small number of American users.

'We're continually working to expand our selection and make it easier for customers to shop,' said Rajiv Mehta, Amazon's vice president of search and conversational shopping. 'This test is designed to help customers find even more of what they want and further improve their shopping experience.'

Brands can opt out of being featured by contacting Amazon, and the company said it doesn't retain any data when users shop with brands using the in-app browser.

In order to compete with 'Temu' and 'Shein,' Amazon is trying to revamp its services by launching the low-cost store 'Amazon Haul.'
