The scene where Umihara Yuzan yells, 'Who made this dish?' is faithfully reproduced in 1/7 scale.

At

Wonder Festival 2025 [Winter] , the world's largest sculpture and figure festival, a 1/7 scale figure was recreated of the famous scene from the 1980s gourmet manga masterpiece Oishinbo, in which Umihara Yuzan, the father and nemesis of the protagonist Yamaoka Shiro, yells at him with a bowl of rice skewer in his hand.

I found the Kaibara Yuzan figure at the dealer booth of the Musashino Art University Model Club (table number: 4-13-04). The prototype was made by Niboshisu and the price was 15,000 yen. The material is resin cast and the size is 220mm.

The figurine is from the seventh episode, 'Conditions for a Chef,' in the fourth volume of 'Oishinbo.' In his right hand, Kaibara Yuzan is holding a bowl of carp wash, made by Okaboshi Ryozo, an apprentice chef who works at the gourmet club run by Kaibara Yuzan. Ryozo had been smoking a cigarette to relieve tension just before cooking, but when Kaibara Yuzan noticed that the smell had left a trace on the wash, he stormed into the kitchen in a rage, yelling, 'Who made this wash!?'

This is one of the famous episodes that clearly shows Umihara Yuzan's keen sense of taste and smell, as well as his strict attitude towards food. The figure faithfully recreates Yuzan's angry expression.

Of course, the bowl contained carp washing.

The kits on sale did not include a base, and the sample on display at the booth had a tatami mat laid under it.

In addition, the relevant scene in the anime version can be seen below, but in the anime it has been changed to sashimi instead of washing.
