Photo review of DJI's pocket gimbal camera 'Osmo Pocket 3', and check out the 'Creator Combo' which comes with accessories for Osmo Pocket 3 such as a battery, wide-angle lens, microphone, and tripod.

DJI's pocket gimbal camera, Osmo Pocket 3 , is perfect for recording memories on your travels and shooting Vlogs. Despite its compact size, it can shoot videos at up to 4K/120fps, and by rotating the 2-inch rotating touch screen, you can flexibly switch between portrait and landscape shooting. To see what the gimbal camera can do, I first took a bunch of photos.

◆Photo review
Although the Osmo Pocket 3 can be purchased separately , the Creator Combo, which includes a battery handle , mini tripod , carry bag , DJI Mic 2 transmitter, etc., is a much better deal. So, this time we'll take a look at what's inside the Creator Combo.

The contents include a carry bag, various documents such as a quick starter guide, a protective case for the Osmo Pocket 3, and a mini tripod.

Here's a comparison of the carry bag with the iPhone 15 Pro, which is 146.6mm long and 70.6mm wide. The width is 15cm, and the length and height are both about 8cm.

The carry bag has multiple pockets to store the Osmo Pocket 3 and various accessories.

Inside the carry bag are (from the left) the Osmo Pocket 3 body, (from the top left) one DJI Mic 2 transmitter, battery handle, handle, (from the bottom left) a windscreen, strap, USB-C cable, DJI Mic 2 clip magnet, and wide-angle lens .

This is Osmo Pocket 3. The hole at the top of the grip is the microphone.

This is a pocket-sized gimbal camera that can be gripped securely with one hand.

The size is 139.7mm long x 42.2mm wide x 33.5mm high, and the weight is 179g. Here's what it looks like next to the iPhone 15 Pro.

The camera of the previous model

, DJI Pocket 2 , was equipped with a 1/1.7-inch CMOS, but the Osmo Pocket 3 has evolved to a 1-inch CMOS sensor. The standard lens has a focal length of 20mm in 35mm equivalent, an aperture of f/2.0, and a focus range of '0.2 meters to infinity.' The gimbal's controllable range is pan '-235 degrees to 58 degrees,' tilt '-120 degrees to 70 degrees,' and roll '-45 degrees to 45 degrees.'

The back looks like this.

There is a protective sheet attached, so just peel it off.

I rotated the screen and it turned on. The screen is touch-enabled, has a size of 2.0 inches, a resolution of 314 x 556 pixels, and a maximum brightness of 700 nits.

At the bottom of the screen are the 5D joystick and the shutter/record button. The 5D joystick cannot be used to navigate the menu, but is only used to control the gimbal (you can move the camera up, down, left, and right) and to zoom in and out.

There is nothing special on the top.

There is a USB-C port for charging on the bottom.

Although it is hard to see, there is a small hole at the top of the grip on the left side, which is also a microphone.

On the right side is the logo, with a microphone next to it.

There is also a microSD card slot at the bottom of the right side. The maximum capacity of the microSD card that can be supported is 512GB.

The microSD cards officially recommended by DJI are as follows:

SanDisk Extreme Pro 32GB V30 A1 UHS-I Speed Class 3
Kingston Canvas Go!Plus 64GB UHS-I Speed Class 3
Kingston Canvas Go!Plus 128GB UHS-I Speed Class 3
Kingston Canvas React Plus 64GB UHS-II Speed Class 3
Kingston Canvas React Plus 128GB UHS-II Speed Class 3
Kingston Canvas React Plus 256GB UHS-II Speed Class 3
Lexar Pro 256GB SDXC UHS-I V30 R160/W120 (1066x)
Lexar Pro 512GB SDXC UHS-I V30 R160/W120 (1066x)

The protective case is an accessory that comes with the Osmo Pocket 3 even if you purchase it alone.

It looks like this when attached to Osmo Pocket 3. By placing the touch screen on the inside, it protects it from impacts.

The left is the battery handle and the right is the handle. The handle is included even if you purchase the Osmo Pocket 3 alone, but the battery handle, which also functions as an external battery, is an accessory that only comes with the Creator Combo.

Both are inserted into the USB-C port at the bottom of the Osmo Pocket 3. To remove them, press the release button on the back and pull them out.

The battery handle has a status LED under the release button that lets you know the remaining battery level: if the LED lights red for 3 seconds and then turns off, the battery level is 0-19%, if it lights yellow for 3 seconds and then turns off, the battery level is 20-49%, if it lights green for 3 seconds and then turns off, the battery level is 50-100%, and if it flashes green, the battery is charging.

You don't have to memorize the LED lighting pattern; just check the remaining battery level while the battery handle is attached to the Osmo Pocket 3, and the remaining battery level on the battery handle will be displayed as shown below.

Both the handle and battery handle have a 1/4 inch threaded hole on the bottom.

By attaching the included mini tripod here, it is possible to fix the Osmo Pocket 3 and shoot as follows. Although the Osmo Pocket 3 can stand on its own without a tripod, it is unstable and easily falls over due to the small area of the bottom, so if you want to use it upright, it is better to use a tripod.

The Creator Combo comes with a DJI Mic 2 transmitter.

This is the transmitter for the wireless microphone DJI Mic 2, which was previously reviewed by GIGAZINE. Below you can read a review article on what kind of wireless microphone the DJI Mic 2 is and how it was actually connected to a camera and smartphone. We've also uploaded a video that lets you experience the clear sound quality of the DJI Mic 2, so be sure to check it out.

This is the wide-angle lens that comes with the Creator Combo. Its dimensions are 23.25mm wide x 17.2mm long x 6.7mm thin, and it weighs 3.82g.

The back looks like this, with magnets on either side of the lens.

The side says '0.75 x 15mm'.

It's easy to use; just bring the magnet side close to the camera side of the Osmo Pocket 3.

When you get close enough, the wide-angle lens is fixed in place with a magnet. When you use the wide-angle lens, the field of view is 108 degrees and the focal length is equivalent to 15mm.

The wide-angle lens can also be stored in the protective case in the following position.

The weight of the above accessories packed in the carry bag was 488g. However, the protective case was not included because it did not fit in the carry bag.

The Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo is also available on Amazon.co.jp for 99,800 yen including tax.
