Drawing app 'Procreate' clearly takes stance against generative AI
The iPad design app Procreate has taken a stance against generative AI and has declared that it will not introduce generative AI features into its products.

Procreate has outlined three stances: 'No generative AI,' 'Your work belongs to you,' and 'We take pride in protecting your personal information.'
In addition, Procreate CEO James Cuda stated in the following movie, 'Personally, I find generative AI really unpleasant. I don't understand what's happening in this industry right now and the various pains it's causing artists,' and announced that Procreate will not incorporate generative AI into its products. 'Our products have always been designed and developed with the idea that humans create something. I don't know exactly where this story is going or how it will end, but I believe we are on the right path to supporting human creativity.'

It is extremely rare for a design or drawing app to clearly say no to image-generating AI, and other companies have been actively trying to incorporate image-generating AI.
For example, Celsys, which released 'CLIP STUDIO PAINT,' tried to experimentally implement an 'Image Generation AI Palette' that applied image generation AI, but canceled the implementation after receiving a lot of opposition.

I use Procreate to draw some of enjoy my datasets. I really Procreate as a tool and won't stop using it.
I find the negativity disappointing and a bit erasing - synthetic art is a part of a very involved creative process for me.

Procreate also stated, 'Generative AI is plundering people's creativity. Generative AI technology, which learns from plagiarism, is leading us to a barren future. While machine learning has many benefits, we have decided that generative AI is not in Procreate's future.' They cited the possibility that training datasets infringe copyright as one of the reasons for denying generative AI.
