It is clear that Google plans to integrate the chatbot 'Bard' into the multimodal AI 'Gemini' and turn it into an app
A changelog for Google's chatbot 'Bard' has been leaked ahead of its official update, revealing details such as the integration of Bard with the multimodal AI 'Gemini' and the upcoming release of a 'Gemini' app.

The information was provided by Android app developer Dylan Roussel (@evowizz) , who also revealed that as of February 1st local time, 'Bard is planning to change its name to Gemini.'

The changelog also contains a mention of 'Gemini Apps' which seems to be a way for Google to gather Gemini 'web' and Gemini 'mobile' under a same name.

Roussel showed the Bard changelog, which is scheduled to be announced on February 7, 2024, and includes the heading 'Bard is now Gemini.'

According to Google, to make it clearer that Gemini is the best way to access Google AI, they're also renaming Bard to Gemini. While the changelog says 'renaming,' since Gemini already exists, it appears they're 'integrating Bard into the existing Gemini.' The UI will be redesigned to reduce visual clutter, improve readability, and simplify navigation.
In the future, features like voice interaction with Gemini will be added, and a paid plan called ' Gemini Advanced ' with file upload functionality will also be offered. Gemini Advanced will give users access to Google's most capable AI model, 'Ultra 1.0,' improving their ability to handle complex tasks like coding, logical reasoning, nuanced instructions, and creative collaboration.
This is believed to have been called 'Bard Advanced' as of December 2023.
Bard, significantly enhanced with the AI model 'Gemini Pro,' will be available, and 'Bard Advanced' with Gemini Ultra will also be released in 2024 - GIGAZINE
Over the coming months, Gemini Advanced will include expanded multimodal capabilities, improved coding capabilities, and the ability to upload files and data for deeper analysis.
Gemini Advanced is expected to be available in over 150 countries and regions.
Additionally, an English version of the Gemini app is scheduled to be released soon.
