AMD's sales for the fourth quarter of 2023 were $ 6,268 million (approximately 926 billion yen), a 10% increase from $ 5,599 million (approximately 827 billion yen) in the same period last year. This is also a 6% increase from $5.8 billion (approximately 856 billion yen) in the third quarter.
Sales for the full year of 2023 will be $22.68 billion (approximately 3.35 trillion yen). This is a 4% decrease compared to 23.6 billion dollars (approximately 3.49 trillion yen) in 2022.
By segment, the data center division recorded sales of $6.5 billion (approximately 960 billion yen), an increase of 7% from the previous year, due to the power of AMD Instinct GPU and 4th generation AMD EPYC CPU.
In addition, in the client division, the Ryzen 7000 series performed well in the fourth quarter, and sales increased 62% year on year to $1.5 billion (approximately 222 billion yen), but the PC market was sluggish throughout the year. As a result, sales decreased by 25% from the previous year to $4.7 billion (approximately 694 billion yen).
In the game division, sales were down from the previous year in both the fourth quarter and the full year due to a slump in the semi-custom field.
In the embedded division, full-year results increased 17% year-on-year to $5.3 billion (approximately 783 billion yen) due to the impact of sales related to the acquisition of Xilinx, which was completed in February 2022. As a result of reducing the number of inventories, sales decreased by 24% from the same period last year to $1.1 billion (approximately 162 billion yen).
In the first quarter of 2024, data center revenue is expected to be flat as seasonal declines in server sales will be offset by increases in data center GPUs. Other divisions are expected to continue to decline, with total sales expected to be $5.4 billion (approximately 798 billion yen) ± $300 million (approximately 44.3 billion yen).
