I tried out Yamazen's 'Kurumi Ket (USB type)' which is like a wearable kotatsu and will boost your quality of life in winter

In winter, many people find it difficult to get out of their futons under a kotatsu or electric blanket, and many people hate going out or even moving around the house. I discovered an item called the ' Kurumi Ket (USB type)' that can be worn as a wearable blanket while standing and walking around, is warm like an electric blanket when powered by a mobile battery, and even has a foot pocket to prevent cold feet, so I tried using it.

The 'Kurumi Ket (USB type)' came in a box like this.

When I opened the box, the Kurumi Keta itself came out.

Other contents include an instruction manual with warranty and precautions for safe use.

When you unfold the blanket, it will look like this. The left side will be the front when you wear it, and the right side will be the back.

On the chest is a USB cable for connecting to the heater (described below) and a power button for the heater.

There is a pocket on the underside of the back to keep your feet warm.

If you look closely at the back of the front panel, you can see that there are four heater units.

To put it on, first zip it up and make it into a cylinder.

Next, put your feet into the blanket.

All you have to do is fasten it with the shoulder clasp.

The size when worn is about 115cm long x 65cm wide, and the waist can be up to about 130cm. The corresponding height is 150-180cm, and when worn by an editorial staff member who is 179cm tall, it looks like this.

You can see the zipper on the right side.

The zipper is top to bottom fastening, so if you pull it up a bit you can walk more easily.

The back looks like this.

The shoulder straps are connected on the left and right as shown below, so there is no problem with items worn like overalls, such as 'the shoulder straps come off if you have sloping shoulders.'

There is the aforementioned pocket on the underside of the back, so you can put your legs in it when you are sitting down, as shown below.

This allows the entire body to be covered except for the shoulders and head, just like a sleeping bag, so even people who are prone to feeling cold from the bottom up are less likely to feel it.

To test the heater function, connect a mobile battery that supports USB Type-A.

The mobile battery can be stored in your pocket like this, so it won't get in the way.

After connecting the mobile battery, turn on the heater unit. There are two power buttons, the left one for the chest and the right one for the abdomen.

When you turn it on, it will enter 'fast heat mode (flashing red)' which is the fastest way to heat up. Then, each time you press the button, it will switch between 'strong (lights up red)', 'medium (lights up white)' and 'weak (lights up green)'. If you press the button when it is on weak, it will loop back to strong. In 'fast heat mode', the temperature will rise for 10 minutes and then automatically switch to 'strong'.

So, below is a thermography image of the state after connecting the mobile battery and using the fast heat mode for exactly 10 minutes. You can see that the four heater units are hot and steaming.

The review of the 'Kurumi Blanket (USB Type)' was done in a room with the air conditioner set at 23 degrees, and as soon as I put it on, I felt enough warmth that sweat started to trickle from my forehead, and it was so hot that I turned on the heater. The pockets that completely cover your feet keep your toes warm, and if you use a mobile battery, you can stand and walk around with the heater on, so I felt that this is a must-have item for the winter when heating bills are a concern.

The Kurumi Ket (USB type) can be ordered from Yamazen's official website for 9,980 yen including tax and free shipping. Please note that in order to use it as a power source,
