'Challenge! Machi★Asobi vol.3' kicks off, with a 'Demon Slayer: <span translate="no">Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba</span>' local illustration stamp rally and a gourmet hunt across Tokushima Prefecture
'Challenge! Machi ★Asobi vol.3', a comprehensive entertainment event that 'enjoys Tokushima to the fullest' turned into a 'traveling event' as a measure against COVID-19, opened on Saturday, May 14, 2022. The event will run until Sunday, June 5, and will not only cover central Tokushima, but also Naruto City in the north, Miyoshi City in the west, and Kaiyo Town in Kaifu County in the south, all the way to the prefectural borders with other prefectures, making for an extraordinary amount of travel if you are serious about it.

'There will be no stage events at this Machi Asobi,' but when I got there, the setup was underway...
A performance stage by Shikoku University was scheduled.
Since much of the event at 'Challenge! Machi★Asobi vol.3' consisted of participants moving around on their own and exhibits, there was no clear start, but the Shikoku University Wind Orchestra provided a great opening performance.

◆ 'Demon Slayer: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba' sliding doors and headmarks on display
At Higashi-Shinmachi Shopping Arc, where the movie theater ' ufotable CINEMA ' is located, items that were exhibited at the ' Demon Slayer Festival ~ Anime 3rd Anniversary Festival ~ ' were on display. These are the sliding doors of the 'Entertainment District Infiltration Area' where you can experience the world of the Entertainment District Arc of 'Demon Slayer: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba'.

From the 'Demon Slayer: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba' Mugen Train arc, the 'real Mugen Train' is getting a 'Mugen' headmark.

Above the arcade, banners for a total of 35 anime, game and other titles are flying around, taking over the shopping district.

'Gourmet Hunt' is simply a restaurant stamp rally. You visit each restaurant and if you meet the set gourmet hunt conditions, you will receive a stamp and a postcard.
808 Cafe Demeter is located near JR Sako Station, across from the Hellos Sako store.

The condition for the Gourmet Hunt is to order more than 500 yen, so any smoothie is fine. This is the most popular 'Green Smoothie' (no tapioca, 500 yen including tax).

The bakery and cafe space 'PenFork' is located in Bandaicho, Tokushima City, near the Tokushima Prefectural Office and the Tokushima City Transportation Bureau Bandai Depot.

◆ Gourmet Hunt Pancake Cafe Mahalo
The pancake and lunch shop 'Maharo' is located here. It's on the corner of a curved intersection.
The shop is on the first floor of an apartment building. There is a parking lot for five cars in front of the shop, which was completely full during lunch and snack times.
The gourmet hunt conditions were 'Chocolate Banana Cup Pancake (880 yen) or Caramel Banana Cup Pancake (880 yen)', so I ordered the chocolate banana cup pancake.
It looks like a parfait, but there are pancakes hidden underneath the soft serve ice cream.
◆Gourmet Hunt
Mori Coffee Shop is one of the restaurants that opens early in the morning in front of Tokushima Station. It is located facing the rotary in front of the station.
It is located at the back of the 1st floor of Tokushima Station Terminal Building.
The conditions for the gourmet hunt were '3 drip coffees for 600 yen (takeaway) / Blended coffee for 550 yen / Cream soda for 700 yen.' This time, I chose the cream soda.
One of the unique features of Mori Coffee is that they collect gourmet hunt postcards and display the results inside the shop. There are an incredible number of them, and this alone makes it worth a visit.
Gourmet Hunt:
Yamakyo is a restaurant that serves the classic brown ramen flavor in Tokushima.
It is located at the south side of Benten Bridge over the Ayukui River. Since it is on the east side of the road coming down from the embankment, if you are coming north and want to enter the store, you will have to go around through the tunnel from the side road that goes up to the bridge.
Because it is a popular restaurant, the parking lot is often full and there are people waiting for their number in their cars. This time, I waited about 15 minutes.
The gourmet hunt requirement is 'small soba (600 yen) or more.' The classic brown Tokushima ramen topped with sweet and spicy stewed beef is so tasty that you can eat it all in one go.
Gourmet Hunt -
The only Tokushima ramen shop at Tokushima Awaodori Airport is 'Takara Ramen Awaodori Airport Branch.'

Renmaru Cafe, located in Naruto City, is a cafe that focuses on lotus root.

The gourmet hunt requirement is the kale and lotus root mix 'Lotus Root Thin Udon' (990 yen), which is made with lotus root from Tokushima.

Hinode Main Store, known for its 'Grape Buns', is located in Anabuki-cho, Mima City.
Anabuki Station on the JR Tokushima Line.
There is a local specialty corner inside Anabuki Station, and grape buns were placed in the center.
As soon as you leave the station, you will see Hinode Main Branch on your right. The condition for the hunt is '5 grape buns (594 yen).'

Momijiya is a confectionery shop located in Tomioka-cho, Anan City.

The condition for the Gourmet Hunt is to spend more than 540 yen, so I bought some warabimochi and cream puffs. Since bread is cheap, I'm worried about what to buy and how to buy it to meet the hunt condition.

Within a 10-minute walk from Hiwasa Station on the JR Mugi Line is Aian, a ramen shop that uses ingredients from southern Tokushima Prefecture and does not use any artificial additives.
Yakuoji Temple is the 23rd temple of the 88 sacred places of Shikoku.

This time I ordered 'Chuka Soba (Salt)' (800 yen) and 'Homemade Yakousa Ginger Ale (350 yen)'. The surface of the soup is covered with a thick layer of fat, but the ramen has a light salty taste and is very easy to eat.
