'Xperia PRO-I' photo review: 'The ultimate camera.'

Sony's Xperia smartphone series will be releasing the Xperia PRO-I on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. The Xperia PRO-I features an optimized 1.0-inch image sensor, similar to that used in the premium compact camera RX100 VII. I had the opportunity to borrow this device early and try it out, so I decided to play around with it a bit.

We compared the 'Xperia PRO,' a smartphone for video creators, with the 'Xperia 1 II,' which has almost the same specifications - GIGAZINE

The Xperia PRO-I has a camera located in the center of the back that makes it stand out.

The body color is Frost Black, and although the corners are rounded, the overall silhouette gives a straight impression, typical of the Xperia series.

Next to it is

the Xperia 1 II , the spring 2020 model. The dimensions of the Xperia PRO-I are approximately 72mm x 166mm x 8.9mm, while the Xperia 1 II is approximately 72mm x 166mm x 7.9mm, with the only difference being thickness.

There's a USB Type-C port on the bottom. The original Xperia PRO was aimed at video creators and had an HDMI Micro port , but the Xperia PRO-I doesn't have one.

There is a SIM card slot on the left side near the top (right hand side in the photo).

The top surface has a 3.5mm audio jack that is compatible with 4-pole headsets.

On the right side (from the top, left hand side in the photo) are the volume buttons, power button, shortcut button, and shutter button. The Xperia 1 II does not have a shortcut button.

The front camera has an effective pixel count of approximately 8 million pixels and an F-number of 2.0.

The rear main camera has a 16mm ultra-wide-angle lens with an effective pixel count of approximately 12.2 million pixels and an f/2.2 aperture. The 24mm wide-angle lens has an effective pixel count of approximately 12.2 million pixels and a 1.0-inch Exmor RS CMOS sensor with an f/2.0/4.0 aperture. The 50mm standard lens has an effective pixel count of approximately 12.2 million pixels and an f/2.4 aperture. It is equipped with a 3D iToF sensor that instantly measures the position of the camera and subject to achieve accurate AF.

The actual weight was 209g.

I'm going to take it outside and take some photos.
