According to Atlas Airlines operating, Boeing 767-375 BCF's exclusive freighter flew off George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas as 5 Y 3591 flight from Houston to Miami. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), around 0:45 pm local time, the shadow suddenly disappeared from the radar at the south east about 30 miles from the airport, radio communication became impossible .

Looking at the route of 5 Y 3591 flight on the day of the accident by Flightradar 24, which is tracking the flight status of airplanes all over the world in real time, the route is cut off steadily at the northern end of Triniti Bay on the outskirts of Houston. Also, when you look at the altitude graph, you can see that the altitude has begun to fall abruptly shortly before 0:30 pm.

As a result of the search, the wreckage of the accident machine was found at the northern end of Trinity Bay. The FBI and the local police announced that the survival of three crew members is hopeless, and two bodies have already been collected at the time of writing the article. In response to this, Atlas Airlines established a support center to care and support the crew members' families. Bill Flynn, CEO of Atlas Air said, "This accident made all of us sad. Atlas Airlines continued working closely with the National Transport Safety Commission (NTSB), FAA and local governments at the Houston site I am promising to do my utmost to investigate the cause.

According to Flightradar 24, the accident machine (airframe number: N1217A ) was manufactured and operated as Canadian Airliner in 1992, but since then it was renovated to freight aircraft and started airing in Amazon Airlines Plan in April 2017 " Amazon Prime Air "as a large cargo aircraft exclusively operated by Atlas Airlines. According to the record of FAA, the number of flights of N1217A exceeded 20,000 at the time of the accident, and the total flight time seems to be about 90,000 hours.

A voice recorder etc. that leads to elucidation of the cause of the accident has not been discovered yet, and investigation by FAA, FBI, NTSB is carried out.
